Move over Pat Riley, you’re not the only boss looking to part ways with a big time Florida mansion. Hitting the market in recent days is the Lantana, FL estate of one Richard DeVos, the billionaire owner of the Orlando Magic. DeVos, who ranks 60th on The Forbes 400 with a net worth of roughly $5 billion, is asking a cool $24.9 million for the oceanfront Palm Beach residence.
DeVos’ monster mansion can be found roughly three hours south of Orlando, FL and the home of the magic, Amway Arena. Set on a prime lot of 1.7 acres, the estate boasts 22,512-square-feet of living space, complete with seven bedrooms and a total of 10 bathrooms. Luxe features and amenities include a grand, marble-lined foyer with a curved glass staircase, an elevator with access to the home’s three floors, vaulted ceilings and numerous wood built-ins. Head out to the backyard and one will find that he billionaire style found inside was not spared on the exterior of the property. An infinity pool and spa, flanked by rows of palm trees, sits beside a massive outdoor kitchen and patio area, and look out onto a private dock and the ocean.
DeVos, who made the bulk of his billions as the founder of Amway, purchased a majority stake in the Magic back in 1991, shelling out a reported $85 million for the Orlando-based NBA franchise. In the 20 seasons since DeVos bought the team, the Magic have finished atop its division a total of five times, while making the playoffs 13 times and the NBA Finals twice.
