Yesterday, it was former Los Angeles Lakers center Vlade Divac who put his Pacific Palisades home up for rent. Today, it’s the man responsible for piloting the ‘Showtime’ Lakers to multiple NBA Championships who is renting out his home. That’s right folks, the iconic basketball coach and current team president of the Miami Heat, Pat Riley, has posted a ‘For Rent’ sign in front of his oceanfront estate inMalibu, CA. For the tidy summer rate (June, July and August) of $35,000-a-month, you too can eat, sleep, relax, etc. in the same place as the living legend.
Located with an exclusive gated enclave, Riley’s beachfront home offers a quaint, but open, 1,386-square-foot floor plan with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is also a bonus room that is currently used as an office. The house features a large living room with a fireplace that sits adjacent to a chef’s kitchen, with both areas looking out over a patio area and, further, sprawling views of the Pacific Ocean by way of a row of sliding glass doors.
A former Kentucky Wildcats standout who played nine seasons in the NBA with the San Diego Rockets, Lakers and Phoenix Suns, Riley would make his greatest mark in ‘The Association’ as a head coach, piloting the Los Angeles to four championships during the 80’s and the Miami Heat to one in 2006. Riley would ultimately step down as head coach of the Heat following the 2008 season, but has since held the position of team president for the Miami Franchise – a role he’s excelled in, as evidenced by his NBA Executive of the Year award in 2011, which he earned, in part, for his part in bringing Chris Bosh and LeBron James to South Beach.
The listing is presented by Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker – Malibu West.
