When we last left off on the Oprah real estate trail, the television talk show host and cable network magnate had put her Beaux Arts-style co-op up for rent to the tune of $15,000-a-month. Well, it appears Ms. Winfrey has no desire to act as landlord for the East Lake Shore Drive property. Our pals over at Curbed bring word that she has instead opted to sell the home, listing the property for $2.8 million, or half of the $5.6 million she paid for it back in 2006.
Located along one of Chicago, IL’s more historic and prestigious drives, the big O’s Streeterville estate was originally built in 1913 by one Benjamin Marshall. It offers some 4,607-square-feet, with three bedrooms and five bathrooms, and a total of thirteen rooms overall. The very Oprah-like master suite alone, complete with his and her bathrooms and views of the Chicago Harbor, measures 1,241-square-feet, while other fine features include a grand foyer, wood-trimmed library, solarium, and a wine room.
The listing is presented by Colette Connelly of Prudential – Rubloff
