Q: I know someone that is buying a house and it was disclosed that it has mold ( do not know how much) and 5 support beams in the basement, with a 10 year warranty. It is priced very low. Would it be OK to buy with the 2 problems that I listed?

A: Mold can be removed from a home. Before buying have the home inspected by a reputable home inspector whose occupation is to inspect homes for potential buyers prior to purchase. Once you have the inspectors report you will need have a removal expert give you a quote on repair and remediation of the mold. Use this information to negotiate an offer subject to removal and repair of the damage and source of the mold or get a price reduction to take d
ceo the work once you own the home.
