Veteran Mixed Martial Arts fighter Rashad Evans became the UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion at UFC 92 on December 27, 2008 when he defeated Forrest Griffin by knock out. In early May 2009, just a few weeks before attempting to defend his LWH title for the first time, Rashad Evans paid $580,000 for a newly-constructed home in the Chicago suburb of Frankfort, Illinois. Built on just over half and acre, the home offers five bedrooms, four bathrooms, three-car garage, wood deck, and has 4,450 square feet.

Before winning the UFC LHW championship, Rashad Evans won the National Junior College championship in 2000 at 165 lbs while attending Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, New York. Evans then transferred to Michigan State University where he competed in the 174 lb weight class and amassed a 48–34 record. He began his UFC career as a heavyweight where he appeared on and won the reality TV series/fight tournament The Ultimate Fighter 2.
Rashad also owns a home in Lansing, Michigan which he purchased in October 2006, shortly after defeating Jason Lambert at UFC 63.
