When actress Anne Hathaway, of Princess Diaries and Devil Wears Pradafame, split with her Italian scamster boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, she had to leave Follieri's decadent NYC apartment behind. And what an apartment it was, a 7,750-square-foot duplex in Fifth Avenue's Olympic Tower, a building developed by Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. The sprawling condo offers views of Central Park, the Empire State Building, and St. Patrick's Cathedral through floor-to-ceiling glass, a 41-foot living room with polished marble flooring, and five bedrooms. Fittingly—as Follieri plead guilty to money laundering, wire fraud, and conspiracy—the apartment was allegedly occupied by '80s-era man of mystery Adnan Khashoggi, who wound up implicated in the Iran-Contra scandal, among others. Today, the seemingly controversy-inducing pad is available to rent for an astounding $65,000 per month.
