Helen Hunt House !! Helen Hunt Home !!! Helen Hunt Lists Upper West Side Apartment – $2.75M

Helen Hunt has decided New York is no longer the place she’d rather be.

Or, at least not as much as the blond starlet once thought. That means her Upper West Side apartment is not a necessary real estate item, so she has listed her Manhattan co-op for $2.75 million.

According to NBC, Hunt bought the place in 2006 for $2.4 million. The Wall Street Journal reports that Hunt is selling the home because she no longer spends the majority of her time on the East Coast. Hunt’s main residence is a 5-bedroom, 7-bath home in Los Angeles she picked up for $4,615,000 in 2001.

Hunt got her start in TV’s “Mad About You” then moved to films, starring in “As Good As It Gets,” “Pay it Forward,” and “What Women Want.” Recently, the actress starred in the film “Soul Surfer,” based on surferBethany Hamilton‘s comeback from a shark attack in which she lost her arm.

Hunt’s circa-1915 apartment features an open floor plan with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Although updated with professional-grade kitchen appliances and additional storage, the co-op retains much of its art deco charm with decorative fireplaces, restored herringbone hardwood floors, crown moldings and antique lighting. With three exposures and large windows, the apartment is a light-filled space.

Accessible from a semi-private elevator entrance, the 35-unit apartment is located on the “quietest end” of 86th Street in the Upper West Side. Upper West Side real estate has long been a must-have for various celebrities — Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin, and Madonna live there — and a home in the leafy urban ‘hood doesn’t come cheap. Upper West Side home values are currently $977,600.
