Fred Couples House !! Fred Couples Home !! Golf Champ Fred Couples Lists La Quinta Home for Sale

Although pro golfer Fred Couples’ home in La Quinta, CA doesn’t have its own golf course, it has something better: Access to the Madison Club, a premier community that includes a Tom Fazio-designed golf course.

Couples’ home recently hit the La Quinta real estate market for $4,195,000, but he’s not leaving the luxe course. He’s only listed this home in preparation to move into a new custom home he’s building in the Madison Club development, according to the L.A. Times.

The Seattle-raised Couples has a reputation for being laid back — perhaps part of the reason why the champ has been able to stick around and play such good golf for so long. Couples hit the pro golf circuit in 1980, winning his first PGA Tour victory in 1983 en route to 14 PGA tour wins including collecting the coveted green jacket with his 1992 Masters’ Tournament victory. In 2010, Couples made his debut on the Champions Tour in 2010.

Couples picked up the La Quinta home in 2009 for $3,074,500 and uses it as a place to relax at the end of tours. Despite La Quinta home values dropping 13 percent year-over-year, Couples has listed the home for $4,195,000.

The Spanish-style villa was built in 2008 and is situated behind a private courtyard across from the golf course. The 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath home has 5,173 square feet of living space on nearly half an acre. The home has hardwood floors, carved stone detailing and custom cabinetry in the updated kitchen. Other amenities include two master bedrooms — one upstairs, one downstairs — an outdoor kitchen, pool and spa. The home is offered fully furnished.

Listed by agent Janine Stevens of Discovery Land Properties, a monthly payment on Couples’ home would be $15,747, assuming a 20 percent down payment with a 30-year-fixed mortgage, according toZillow.
