A house designed by renowned Atlanta, Georgia architect Keith Summerour has gone on the market. Owned by Atlanta-based inventor and imaginative thinker Nossi Taheri, the 4-bedroom, 5-bedroom home is located just north of the heart of the city in the private Buckhead community and can be had for $2.45 million.
The Mediterranean retreat, dubbed ‘Hacienda Las Tortuga’, offers a zen-like equilibrium that has become characteristic of a Summerour build; the home incorporates many of the natural surroundings of the property with a design combination that lends from European, Spanish and Southwestern influences.
Set on a 1.2 acre wooded lot, the oasis home offers a peaceful balance with a lagoon-style pool, running waterfalls, lush greenery throughout the property. The exterior was constructed using German Hebel block, a form of aerated concrete similar to pumice-stone, while the doors and windows are all custom-made Western Cedar. Inside, aesthetic detail and an antiquated touch are evident throughout. The reclaimed mast of an 1800’s British sailboat was used as the ceiling beam that runs through the heart of the 5,710-square-foot home and exposed wood ceilings were built using handpicked Engleman Spruce found in the deserts of Arizona.
