With the NFL preseason games in full swing, millions of fans are rushing to bars and their living rooms to watch their fav teams battle the pigskin. The lockout had many nervous that there would be no football season or coveted Super Bowl. Now that concessions are firm in the billion dollar industry, we can get on with life and football. To commemorate the upcoming season we wanted to highlight one of our favorite teams. If you reside near or aroundNew York City, there are two football teams to root for: the New York Jets, and the New York Giants.

New York Giant Eli Manning may not be our favorite quarterback, but he does command attention. As thehighest paid quarterback, he (with the help of his team) also led the Giants to Super Bowl victory in 2008 against the New England Patriots. Now we know how Eli plays on the field, but how does he live off the field? What does he do on his downtime? Apparently, deck out his home with electronics. For several years, Eli (and his wife) have called Hoboken, New Jersey home. A haven close enough to New York City but away from the clutter, the Mannings enjoy their abode on the Hudson. Around the time he wed his college sweetheart he also renovated his 3,000 square foot condo. In an interview with The Electronic House, Manning discusses his desire for his home to be automated. Now he is not a high tech nerd per say, but he does enjoy a few luxuries like having a one touch control for his electronics (motorized shades, lighting, A/V), or steam-resistant speakers in the shower. While this may sound super awesome to those who love technology, we are more concerned about the home’s interior style.

As we guessed Manning’s pad is relaxed and very down to earth. Ultra contemporary furnishings common in a bachelor pad are exchanged for durable pieces fit for a family home. We love the living room and its quiet mix of durable materials against glorious views of New Jersey, and the NYC skyline. The built-in wall unit with ladder brings a leisurely element into the social area making it both a room for entertainment, and reading. From what we see in the bedroom, furnishings are clean with minimal clutter. The button-tufted headboard (our favorite!) evokes a classic feel. With an uninterrupted view of the Empire State Building, Manning and his wife must enjoy their time in their neutral retreat. The bathroom is another fabulous space found in the home. How gorgeous are those marble walls?

With so much to see inside Eli Manning’s home, we are only scratching the surface. Reportedly, the Mannings expanded their condo by acquiring a small studio next door. Perhaps they needed the extra space for their newest member of the Manning family, daughter Abby. Purchasing a small studio apartment next door, their 2-bedroom unit has increased in space.
