Is Florida ready for an extended stay from ‘Yo Soy Fiesta’? New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski has wasted little time in spending some of his new-found riches. According to the Boston Herald, the All-Pro tight end dropped $1.6 million on a posh new home in Cigar City shortly after inking a six-year, $54 million extension with the Patriots. The record contract extension, which included an $8 million signing bonus, came after Gronk set NFL records for most touchdown receptions (17) and receiving yards (1,327) by a tight end in a season.
To say that Gronkowski’s new Tampa oasis is a primo “party pad” would be putting it mildly. Sold move-in ready, the 4,781-square-foot home is loaded with top-tier luxuries: custom built-in fish tanks, wired iPhone-controlled surround sound, and 10-plus flat screen televisions are just a few of the finer things found inside, while the rear of the property boasts a boat dock, pool and a pair of fire pits. And if those amenities weren’t enough to sway a 23-year-old football star with cash to burn, a 26.5-foot speedboat was also included in the purchase. S.S. Gronk anyone?
