While Jeff Tedford and the California Golden Bears continue to prepare for Saturday’s home opener against the Nevada Wolf Pack, the team’s coach is apparently prepping for an open house on a more intimate level. Tedford, who enters his 11th year as the Pac-12 school’s head coach, and his wife are selling their massive Danville, CA estate.
Mr. and Mrs. Tedford aim to turn a tidy profit on the family home. Property records indicate that the couple originally paid $3.15 million for the property in 2005 and are now asking a cool $5.35 million for the 8,900-square-foot estate. Set on a prime two-acre hillside lot, the Tedfords’ estate offers ridiculous 360 degree views of Mt. Diablo and the Contra Costa countryside. The home itself, a two-story Mediterranean design built in 1981, includes a total of five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, along with amenities ranging from a game room to a home theater to a wine tasting room.
Head to the Tedford backyard and you will see there is no questioning the coach’s school spirit. An outdoor kitchen and patio area give way to a pool with panoramic views, while further along is a putting green, bocce ball court and a blue basketball court adorned with the Cal logo.
