Fantasia Barrino was born June 30, 1984 in High Point, North Carolina. Fantasia became a celebrity virtually overnight as the season three winner of American Idol in 2004 (January 19 - May 26). Fantasia sung "I Believe" on the finale as her last performance of the show. After its release as a single in June of 2004, "I Believe" would go on to debut at number one. Just a few weeks after the release of "I Believe", Fantasia put some of her new, hard-earned cash into a two-story brick home in Charlotte, North Carolina, worth approximately $740,000. Fantasia purchased this home in August of 2004, shortly after releasing her debut number one hit single "I Believe." Fantasia released her highly-successful debut album Free Yourself, in November of 2004, which included her hit single "I Believe." She released her second album, self-titled Fantasia, in December 2006. In March of 2007, the chart-topping songstress decided to purchase an even pricier home, also in Charlotte. This time Fantasia paid $1.3 million for a two-story pool home, which also offers a hot tub, five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a three-car garage. Fantasia purchased this home in March of 2007 for $1.3 million. On April 10, 2007, Fantasia began starring in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, as Celie.
